Introducing the Apeks XTX40/DS4 + OCTO + SPG regulator set, representing the latest in diving technology from Apeks. Building on the trusted design of the ATX40/DS4, the XTX40 features the innovative Diver Changeable Exhaust System (DCE), offering divers unparalleled flexibility and customization options. This set is meticulously engineered for discerning divers who seek optimal performance and comfort while exploring cold waters (below 10°C / 50°F).
First stage DS4
- Unique over-balanced diaphragm design - when the diver descends, the over-balancing feature allows the average gas pressure in the hose to increase at a rate faster than the ambient temperature. This results in excellent performance at depth.
- A dry-environment system keeps water away from the main spring chamber, preventing ice buildup and keeping silt and debris out.
XTX40 second stage
- A pneumatically balanced second stage provides smooth, easy breathing.
- XTX purge buttons are large and easy to operate. A 2-stage progressive purge is used - press the side purge to reduce the flow rate, useful when more control is required, e.g., filling lifting bags, etc., and then press the center to get the full purge effect, i.e., when the regulator clears, etc.
- The large Venturi lever has a soft-touch rubber grip, making it easy to locate and use. The lever reduces the amount of ingress of sand, making it resistant to all possible friction for smooth operation.
- An easy-to-grip knob controlling the opening force provides the diver with control.
- The second stage is manufactured with active infection protection, as all moldings are made with an additive that kills MRSA, protects against E-coli, bacteria and fungi, and is highly effective against viruses, molds, yeast and algae.
- A silicone exhalation valve improves the breathing performance of the vending machine.
- Comfo-bite™ mouthpiece virtually eliminates jaw fatigue.
- A heat exchanger (patented) that surrounds the valve mechanism dissipates the cold caused by gas expansion while drawing heat from the surrounding water.
