REBALANCED, DIAPHRAGM-CONTROLLED FIRST STAGE

The heart of the regulator is the first stage. Most Apek first stages operate with an overbalanced, diaphragm-controlled mechanism. In the case of an overbalanced first stage, as the depth of the diver increases, the average pressure in the tube increases faster than in the case of a conventionally balanced first stage. The increased average pressure compensates for the increasing density of breathing gas, allowing more breathing gas to flow through the system when needed (i.e. during inhalation). The result is above-average breathing performance, regardless of depth.

DRYING CHAMBER PROTECTED BY A DRY SEAL

This device performs several functions, including protecting against icing of the mainspring, which can occur during dives in very cold waters. In addition, the Dry Seal protects the first stage drying chamber from the ingress of contaminants. This means that there is no longer a need for oily silicone oils or grease filling in the regulator.

The Apeks 1st stage DST offers great convenience with its rotating head. The medium pressure ports that go out there provide a good hose configuration, for example, for a dual device, mono bottle or stage. An ideal companion also for sidemount diving. It is possible to mount a fifth medium pressure port on the top of the head. (Accessories and not included)

The DST has 4 medium pressure outlets (3/8" UNF) and 2 high pressure outlets (7/16 "UNF).

Of course, the first stage of the Apeks DST is compatible with cold water and is therefore also suitable for temperatures below 10°C. Compatible with EAN40 out of the box.

This version already has a fifth socket installed.

A 3/8 sealing plug for the 5th port is included. The 3/8th connection port is not sealed.

FIRST STAGE DST

• Unique over-balanced diaphragm design - when the diver descends, the over-balancing feature allows the average gas pressure in the hose to increase at a rate faster than the ambient pressure. This results in excellent performance at depth.
• The 2 HP ports and 4 MP ports on the rotating turret are angled for optimal hose routing.
• The dry chamber system keeps water away from the main spring chamber, preventing ice buildup and keeping silt and debris out.
