Apeks MTX-R SideMount - Expedition-Ready Regulator Set for Extreme Conditions

The Apeks MTX-R SideMount is a super-durable, high-performance regulator designed to meet the rigors of cold-water diving and extreme conditions. This regulator is exceptionally reliable and very easy to service in the field, making it an ideal choice for expedition and exploratory divers who demand performance and reliability.

First Stage

The MTX-R regulator is pneumatically balanced for excellent performance. Its compact, sealed diaphragm system eliminates maintenance issues related to silicone, oil, or grease fill. Recommended for frequent use in cold or contaminated water, it features an environment-friendly, over-molded cap and diaphragm that helps prevent ice formation, which can impede first-stage function in extreme conditions. It also protects the first stage from mechanical damage.

The regulator includes a double swivel hose for greater freedom of movement and comfort during dives. It has 5 medium-pressure ports (3/8” UNF) and 2 high-pressure ports (7/16” UNF), allowing for flexible configuration options. Additionally, the angled HP ports ensure optimal hose routing, and the forged swivel connector with parallel medium-pressure ports facilitates hose management.

Tested for cold-water use - EN250A rated to 60 meters, the MTX-R is compatible with Nitrox.

Second Stage

The MTX-R second stage is easy to use, requiring no dive control, and is pre-set for opening resistance or Venturi control by a qualified technician authorized by Apeks. It features a high-performance pneumatically balanced mushroom valve with a lever, a large bypass button for ease of use, and a front cover with molded elastomeric guards that includes a formed chrome-plated brass plate for improved durability of the metering valve.

The second stage also features large elastomer bumpers on the sides and top to protect the regulator from impacts and scratches in the most vulnerable areas. It is reversible for gas supply from either side and is finished in durable satin chrome.

All parts in contact with gas are manufactured using an active protective additive that combats MRSA, E. coli, bacteria, and fungi, and is highly effective against viruses, mold, yeast, and algae. A large heat exchanger is installed to help reduce freezing in the second stage.
